1/3 Scale B-17 Bomber
This video was shared with me via Gene this week and I thought it was something the group would appreciate. Check out this 1/3 scale B-17 bomber that was built. I am always amazed at the skill, dedication, and result of projects like this. This is another great example while note trains but how scale modeling of any size is truly an active of passion.

Workday planned for Saturday, March 27th at 8:30 a.m.
Our next planned workday is on Saturday, March 27th at 8:30 a.m. The goal of the day is to complete any maintenance related items on the railroad as well as work on the passenger line project, member container and do a maintenance check on all club equipment. Club equipment check includes making sure the club diesel, riding cars (check the brakes), battery operated switch motors, and more are all in good working order. This is an important workday as we officially open the 2021 season with our next club fun day scheduled for Saturday, April 3rd. It will be important to make sure the railroad is in operational order. Come out and help us get the railroad operational for what should be an exciting season. Make sure you bring power tools, lunch, drinks, and a good sense of humor.

Workday recap for Saturday, March 12, 2021
What an incredible day we had this past Saturday, March 12th. The crew arrived early, like before 8:30 a.m., ready to go and take advantage of a beautiful day. The crew included the dynamic duo of Ben and “Bob”, Wes, Scott, Peter, Norm, Gene, Robby, Calvin, Bob C, David E., Rick, John T., John H., and others. The team split up into several crews and took care of repairing track sections in the yard, modifying our diamond to ensure a smoother ride, cut more than 500 railroad ties, constructed 27 track panels totaling 270 feet of track for the passenger line, moved dirt, and dreamed about current and future projects.
If you are wondering what is next. We are working on arranging equipment to dig the grade crossing and grade the passenger line area heading towards the station in the coming weeks. We also have some additional track repair that is needed before we can have our club fun day the first weekend in April. If you have a free weekday that you are interested in doing some work at the railroad let Norm or Robby know.

Workday recap for Saturday, February 27th - Track building day
Our 2nd club workday of the year was this past Saturday, February 27th. We had a good size crew with Calvin, Wes, Elijah, Tyler, Norm, Robby, Scott, and Bob helping out throughout the day. The crew built 200 feet of track panels, work on the club steamers and caught up since the last time we got together. The crew also sorted most of the old rail and talked about plans for the passenger line, member container and workshop project.
As we move into March our next official workday is planned for Saturday, March 27th but based on conversations yesterday we are going to try and have another workday sooner than that. Be on the lookout for communications around our next workday.

Member Container - Work on preparing the ground assuming it dries out soon.
Passenger line - Build about 20 straight track panels and some curves which includes cut more than 400 railroad ties ahead of next track panel construction day.
Track maintenance - we have some gaps to address on the east side of the railroad before we can start running.
As a reminder our next official club fun day and club meeting is coming up on Saturday, April 3rd and as I mentioned earlier we need to perform some track maintenance before we can operate the railroad so if you can come out during the week let Norm know and a work crew can be assembled to take care of those winter gaps that have appeared.

Workday planned for this Saturday, February 27th at 8:30 a.m.
A workday is planned for this Saturday, February 27th at 8:30 a.m. The weather is looking great and warmer than it has been over the past few weeks. The goal is to build about 12 curved track panels and straight panels. If you are able to come please make sure you bring power tools, lunch, drinks, and a good sense of humor. We will need a couple of people cutting railroad ties, with the bulk of the people building track panels. We have the space to build two or three panels at the same time with social distancing. Depending on how many are able to come we will also need a couple of people to walk the railroad and look for areas that need repair or attention as we get closer to operating the railroad in 2021.
See you around the railroad.

First Official Workday Of 2021
Another start to another great year. This past Saturday, January 23rd a small group came out to build a couple of switches and layout the track for the next storage container. The crew consisted of Calvin, Dave E., Scott, Norm, and Robby. Together they worked through remembering how to build switches and an occasional geometry lesson but by the end of the day progress was made. The crew identified the need to build an additional dozen or so curve panels, some ground work, and the never ending need to cut more railroad ties.

Reminder: NGLS: Board Member Election Redo
As a reminder on Saturday, January 9, 2021 the club voted to fill the three board member positions for the 2021 season. Out of the candidates two, Calvin Abernathy and Bob Cummings, had received enough votes to fill two of three positions with the third position ending in a tie between Joe Fabregas and Susan Wizner. During the meeting, a second vote was taken to fill the third position only and it also ended in a tie. It was then decided to provide an opportunity for the club to vote for a third time which would provide an opportunity for all Full members a chance to vote electronically.
Upon further review it has been decided that we are out of order regarding the accepts of the nominees voted on during the December meeting because in the new adopted bylaws, voted on during our October 2020 meeting, we no longer allow spouses who are both members on the board at the same time. We also did not follow the new bylaws correctly when we did the revote during our Saturday meeting when a tie is involved. Under the new bylaws all ties are settled with a coin flip.
In accordance with the new bylaws and Robert Rules of Order the board has decided that we need to revote on the individuals that have been put forward during the December meeting, minus Susan Wizner, for the board member positions.
So how is all of this going to happen.

A separate email will follow once voting closes on accepting the nominees. At that time, you will then select up to three people for the board position. Voting will be provided electronically and will complete during our February meeting for those who did not vote electronically. At the time of voting during our February meeting members you must have been a full member in good standing prior to the January 9, 2021 meeting to vote.
Nomination Reconfirmation Electronic Voting Ends at 8 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2021
Voting to fill the Three Board positions will take place electronically between Monday, January 25, 2021 and Friday, February 5, 2021 at 8 p.m. For those not voting electronically can vote in person during the regularly scheduled meeting on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 1 p.m.
