The big day is almost here for those that have been waiting for Amazon Prime Day on Tuesday, October 13th and Wednesday, October 14th. If you shop on Amazon and if you are planning on taking advantage of prime day your purchase could qualify for a donation to North Georgia Live Steamers (501(c)(3)- Non-Profit Organization).

Now you may be wondering how to setup your Amazon account so a donation can be made to North Georgia Live Steamers. Each year our club members volunteer hundreds of hours to help promote railroading, the club, and the hobby. In 2020 our members have donated more than 2,000 hours of time. Your support will help us share the love of trains and make more smiles for kids of all ages. If you have enjoyed bringing your kids out for a train ride (and inside aren’t we all kids?) won’t you consider donating whatever you can afford to assist us in bringing our model railroading to you. Today we are participating in #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of giving as a response to the crisis. This has stressed our financial situation while we work on ongoing maintenance, keeping the equipment ready to run and the track safe to ride on. Please help us keep the railroad running by donating today. We are a 501(c)(3) Charitable Organization.

Help support North Georgia Live Steamers

We’re just a model railroad club. Why do we need your help? Well, by now you may have noticed that we have had to cancel 3 of our 5 Public Run Days this year. And we don’t know yet what will happen later in the year. But we will be back someday even if we don’t know exactly when.

In the meantime, we are going to keep on improving our railroad with a primary goal of giving you the public a terrific experience riding the rails. We have plans to make the ride longer and even more interesting. We want to improve our passenger station to make it safer, more efficient and more comfortable. But all this takes money. Our member dues already go to defray part of our operating cost, but it isn’t enough. We have to buy insurance, fuel and other supplies to keep the trains running. We are constantly maintaining our track and switches and as we mentioned above, we can’t stop trying to make the railroad better for you. Without the money we make from Public Run Days all this improvement activity and even some maintenance will be put on hold.

New Riding Cars & Engineer Car Fundraiser

North Georgia Live Steamers, a 501(c)3 non-profit railroad charity, is raising money to expand its ability to handle the growing number of visitors to the Conyers & Hightower Trail Railroad. The railroad has been built and maintained by a group of volunteers and members of the North Georgia Live Steamers.

Our goal is to raise enough to purchase four (4) new passenger riding cars and one (1) conductor car.

The Conyers & Hightower Trail Railroad is located at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers, Georgia which was also home of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics Equestrian events. The railroad has more than 7,500 feet of track on the ground with much more planned in the coming years.
