What an incredible end to the 2023 public run season

What an incredible end of the 2023 public run season we had on Saturday. The weather was perfect, and the railroad saw the most steam engines in operation during a run day in recent memories. The day would not have been a success without each member and volunteer who came out. As we begin to transition to the offseason a few things on the calendar includes a club fun day the Saturday after Thanksgiving and our December 2nd club meeting which is when we take nominations for the 2024 board. Be on the lookout for an email regarding board nominations and how you can submit a nomination online if you are NOT going to be at the December meeting. A few have asked about a Christmas party as part of our December meeting, and we hope to have information on that soon. If you are interested in helping to organize a Christmas Party, please contact Robby or Norm.

For those who like to know how we did here are some of the details:

Rides Given: 553 ($1,106.00)

Total Donations: $92.00

Merchandise; $341.00

Concessions: $222.00

Total income: $1,761.00

Be on the lookout for a workday in the coming weeks before the weather turns to cold. One thing we will need to work on is doing repair of about 30-feet of track on the west side of the railroad. As part of the repair, we will need about 50 ties cut so we have enough for this repair and a few others. Speaking of workdays, the “Grandma Line” continues to make progress thanks to John and Wes. Finally, the shop project is finally getting restarted. Be on the lookout for more on this. We have two immediate items we need to work on including moving the blue container and getting power into the first shop container. More information to follow.
